sam hit a new phase in development this week--he is now able to sit in an exersaucer and play by himself. he simply loves it! it is so nice to have him upright and smiley.

this week's theme is spring. my heart did a few skips of its beat when i saw these ranaculas in bloom. they are perfection to me of a divine creator's love. all of those paper thin petals tucked into one bud is outstanding and the blush color of these is so romantic!

the theme for the week happens to be underneath and i've got two photos for it actually!
1) everyday we take a walk under this tunnel. the twins park their bikes and climb the outsides of the tunnel and slide down on their bums. chloe is tied to the stroller where she babysits sam as they watch the slide fest. so here is my view underneath the tunnel.
2) after all of the sliding down the sides of the tunnel the "underneath" side of morgan shows wear. he doesn't get this dirty hardly ever so i really don't mind if he tears us one pair of jeans and gets his backside covered with silt. good signs of fun had.

it is march! how fast these months are going by! i am just amazed at how quickly time passes when one is busy. the month of february is a blur. there was just so much to celebrate and do during that month. now here we are in march already. i walked into trader joes today and saw shamrock plants for sale! i was soooo tempted but chose the hyacinth stocks instead. the smell of them is filling my home and i am in heaven.
my white hydrangea plant is turning a hint of green. it sits on my kitchen counter by my sink where it catches all that warm afternoon sun. march is a long month to me. but rod's birthday is the 11th and there are things going on at the school that we look forward to each year. i think it will be a full month but maybe not as hustled as february.
i am excited about all of the beautiful trees that are in bloom. spring comes early in vegas and i welcome it!
there is a new little toy that came in the mail for my iphone that i'm loving. i have a macro lens for my iphone. i sought after morgan to take images of his lashes!
for my monthly photography challenge the theme was love. i have had these beautiful paper flowers hanging above my kitchen table all month long. I just loved the blush pink one when the afternoon light came pouring through the sliding glass doors.

my mom and dad at 7:20 am on a sunday morning are as opposite as can be. my mom had to teach a lesson in church that day at 1:00pm and when i went over to drop something off at her house in the early morning there i was greeted with her full make-up and red lipstick. and then my dad came out to say hello in his "red" pajamas. these two are so funny together!
i had been thinking about the theme for our photography group's weekly challenge all week. and then after a very long and stressful day i came up to my room and was overcome by the calming "spirit" in my room. it was that day, after the laundry had been done and the beds changed and the house vacuumed, that i felt like i had just walked into the bedroom of a five-star luxury resort. there was an unmistakeable peace about the room. i'm thankful for the changes we've been able to bring to this room in the past year: new paint color, new sitting spot for two, new large white square pillows to match the quilt and new lamps. i know that spirit can be interpreted a number of ways but this week mine is a feeling of peace and serenity found in my room illuminated at night.
