been working on these for the past few days and thought i'd share a few of my favorites. i'm still working through his session photos but kristy has been more than patient and i thank her tons! we've had a few things going on around my home that have set me back a bit. just getting caught up now. just check out those long toes on this little man! and the one of him snuggling up under his mom's chin is so my style. i love trying new things but most of all i like seeing the everyday life--like mamma-time--calming him in the rocking chair and holding him in her lap having him look up at her. it is real life. it is what she does and sees on a daily basis. many times i wish i had had a photographer come and document a day in my life with my children as babies. for me those very first days and weeks were full of two very tiny bodies being snuggled, kissed, fed, burped, changed--over and over and over again. life has changed so much from that now that i wish i had black and white documentary style photographs of it just to remind me i was there once for it seems now a world away. hope you enjoy these!
{GIVEAWAY NOTICE}
i'm feeling like a giveaway too! if 25 or more separate people leave a comment for this post the fantastic family of this little dudo gets a free 8x10 professional print of their choice! so go ahead--post it! i'm sure that his mom would be so thankful!

i have always dreamed of having all my old-time close friends come together and meet me someplace for a vacation away from home. that's just what this group did for their friend's 40th birthday. what a fabulous weekend away--no kids--just friends, great weather, great food and a city that never sleeps. and add to that a photo shoot together in the neon boneyard! it rocked!
thanks, sheri & cas & company! kristin and i had such fun with all ya'll!

this group had the most ridiculous fun last weekend in vegas! someone was turning 40 and his good friends and family came in town to join him and his wife in some fun! it was such a great time with this group. so many of them were game for anything and so happy to be in town. what a good troop of friends and associates this birthday man has...not to mention his awesome wife! more to come soon from this fun afternoon.

i can understand that when a new baby comes home, the older sibling just above them has some adjustment to cope with. becoming the older brother or sister can't be easy. your whole world gets rocked and you become second for a time while baby steals the show (at least that is how they must see it.)
here is a special sneak peak just for this little one who is in that place right now---just figuring out where he fits in the family now that little baby brother came home to stay. so cute! more from this session to come later. for now, enjoy.

remember this sneak peek? i just can't seem to get enough of this one. i go over and knock on their door nearly each day just to give him a squeeze. same time, same place tomorrow--i'm sure i'll be knocking again! enjoy.

when a friend of mine told me that her mother-in-law would be in town and that they had no photos of her, she came up with the idea to combine her son's five-year-old photo session with his grandmother. i was thrilled! i wish i had such photos of my own grandmother. it is something i feel strongly about--capturing generations.
and a little bit of him just being five:
